TypoHulk - a powerful open-source tool used to generate a list of most common mistakes made by internet users and identifies which domains are online. This tool can be used to find Typosquatted (URL hijacked) websites, which are commonly registered to redirect users to pages with malicious content.
Many websites have been published waiting for users to make simple mistakes while entering URL addresses. Commonly, those websites contain malicious content, advertisements or simply redirect to another web-page. Typohulk will identify 91% of the most common typo errors, perform a ping scan and DNS lookup to identify which domains are online (www.brandchannel.com/images/papers/452_Typosquatting_final.pdf). We use it to generate seed lists for web-crawling part of our latest malware analysis project.
